McCarthy Eyes Day Two Comeback
Course: Penn State Blue Course | Par: 72 | Yards: 7,228 The freshman, playing in only his second competition at the intercollegiate level, was steady throughout the first 15 holes in his opening round of 18. Late into the round, McCarthy found himself in the hunt before surrendering seven strokes over the final few holes due to hazards and an unforgiving stretch to end day one’s competition. Before the tough…

DeVoe Shatters Own School Record
DeVoe, shaving 36-seconds off her previous personal/school best, owned a 4:06/kilometer pace at Friday’s (Oct. 5) intercollegiate intra-state battle. The time was good enough to vault DeVoe into the top-100 finishers at a race that is host to NCAA Division I & II opponents, as well as NAIA and junior college schools. The senior stands alone atop all cross country records-to-date in only her third full year running competitively at…
Houston Breaks 8K School Record
Marcell Houston (Detroit, Mich./Mumford) managed to barely clip former record-holder Anthony Butler (Lincoln Park, Mich./Roosevelt) after he finished Friday’s 8K with a record time of 28:08. Butler’s previous mark, 28:15, came last season at the Lansing Invite (09/30/2011). In the end, it may be fitting that a mere seven seconds is all that stands between the Mustangs’ dynamic duo record pace as the pair are separated by less than two…

McClendon,…

Sophomore’s Robert Crockett (Detroit, Mich./King) and Akil…
