McCarthy Seeks USCAA Crown
McCarthy, fresh off his first varsity outing as an intercollegiate student-athlete, will hope to build off this weekend’s 32nd place finish as he seeks a 2012 USCAA National Championship. The former Dexter High School standout is the lone eligible golfer at the 2012 invite that begins Monday (Oct. 8) morning in Pennsylvania.
Also joining the Mustangs on the championship road trip is first year assistant coach, Ronnie Pollack, Jr. The former Madonna University golfer will use his recent college experience as a building block for a young program that is looking to grow.
At the USCAA invite, McCarthy will take part in a two-round event that will feature 36 holes of competitive golf featuring the nation’s elite in small college golf.
The two-day event will also feature a skills challenge in which McCarthy is entered as a participant in two events. The freshman will showcase his talents in the chipping and putting challenges that will determine the top short-game participants at the USCAA invite.
The Mustangs’ facebook and twitter accounts will provide up-to-the-minute updates from Pennsylvania beginning Monday afternoon.
