Mustangs Aim to Impress at Michigan Intercollegiate

Senior record-holder Shana DeVoe (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon) will once again lead the Mustangs into action. DeVoe has started the season off strongly after finishing at or ahead of last year’s pace twice this year. The senior could very be in for a good day and challenge at the top of the pack in tomorrow’s race.

DeVoe will be followed by newcomer Jessica McClendon (Canton, Mich./Madonna University). McClendon, also a member of the women’s soccer team, will compete in her second race for the Mustangs and looks to shave time off her first race’s effort three weeks ago.

Mercedesz Brown (Redford, Mich./Thurston) rounds out the field for the Mustangs that will be competing attached Friday. The freshman continues to show improvement and is hopeful to have another competitive outing for the Mustangs.

The women’s race is set to begin at 4:45pm at Calvin College’s Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The women’s open (5K) race is set to start at 6:00pm.
