Dixon’s 28 Highlights Regular Season Finale
CINCINNATI, Ohio — Sophomore guard Darryll Dixon (Flint, Mich./Hamady) put his abilities on display in southern Ohio on Saturday (02/18) by pouring in 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting in a 81-70 victory over host Cincinnati Christian College.
The 28-point effort marked the second time in as many games the sharpshooting guard reached the impressive total.
Dixon’s effort was followed up by a 17-point performance by senior guard Marcus Hopkins (Southfield, Mich./Southfield). Possibly playing in his final collegiate contest, Hopkins willed his way to 17 points behind 5-of-10 shooting from the floor – including hitting 3-of-4 from distance.
The win lifts the Mustangs record to 12-17 at the end of the regular season. Currently sitting on the bubble, the Mustangs will presumably need a bit of help to make a fourth straight trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship Tournament. Stay tuned for updates on the Mustangs postseason chancesÂ…
