Circle City Woes

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-The Mustangs (1-7) dropped a pair of games at the 2010 UIndy Classic on the campus of the University of Indianapolis. Both games were played against highly respected NCAA Division II programs.

Day One

Marygrove v. #7 University of Indianapolis (NCAA D2)

The host Greyhounds were too much for a younger, smaller Mustang squad in a 121-40 rout. The Greyhounds, NCAA Division II #7 in the country, played at a championship caliber game by shooting 71% from the field. Kaila Corrothers (Detroit, Mich./Owens Community College) led the Mustangs with 11 points.

Day Two

Marygrove v. Lewis University (NCAA D2)

The Mustangs brought an improved effort in Saturday’s neutral court battle against NCAA D2 Lewis University. The Flyers (Lewis) 55% to 38% field goal edge to top the Mustangs, 92-54. Kaila Corrothers (Detroit, Mich./Owens Community College) led the Mustangs once again with a game-high 19 points.
