Crusaders Hot Shooting Downs Mustangs
LIVONIA, Mich.-The Mustangs struggled through their first road game on American soil of the 2010-11 season against a team that is a likely NAIA Top-25 team by season’s end. Strong play and hot shooting from a veteran-riddled Crusader squad proved to be too much for the young, hobbled Mustangs squad Wednesday evening.
The Mustangs 30-point defeat (84-54) was a product of strong play by a team that will be a force all season long. However, the youthful Stangs committed over 20 turnovers on the evening most of which were a product of miscommunication due to all the new faces on the court. Kaila Corrothers (Detroit, Mich./Owens Community College) led the Mustangs with 15 points and 3 assists.
Looking to rebound off a tough loss, the Mustangs will regroup before heading to Indiana Tech next weekend for the 2010-11 SportONE Shootout. The Mustangs are schedule to play host Indiana Tech on Friday and NAIA giant Taylor University Saturday.
