Cruise Control: Lady Mustangs Win 86-40
DETROIT, Mich.-The Lady Mustangs move to 3-1 on the season with a convincing 86-40 victory over an outmatched Write State-Lakes team. The visiting Lakers stayed close for a while before falling victim to a strong Mustang attack.
Jacquis Bullock had a career night for the Mustangs in the win. The junior guard only had six points, but that wasn’t her focus. Bullock tallied a stat-stuffing 13 assists en rout to a 46-point shellacking of the Lakers. She added five rebounds to even out an impressive night.
Freshman forward Keara Marks led the Mustangs with 18 points on 62% shooting. Kiara Kelley and Santrea Bush followed Marks in double-figures with 13 and 10 respectively. Kelley added four assists and steals in a balanced effort.
The Lady Mustangs face their toughest test to date with a Monday evening match-up at NCAA Division I Eastern Michigan University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm inside the EMU Convocation Center. The Eagles cruised to an easy exhibition win over the Mustangs last season.
